A few highlights…..

In August 2007, the first LegendsXI match was held in Antrim, Northern Ireland as Chimney Corner FC took on Liverpool Legends XI. Almost a year later, over 12,000 fans attended three exhibition games between Manchester United Legends XI and Liverpool Legends XI in Cork, Galway and Dublin.

The Belfast Cup in 2008 saw the Legends of Liverpool, Manchester United, Linfield and Glentoran play out four games at The Oval before the former emerged victorious. A year later, with the same teams at the same venue, Manchester United Legends secured the bragging rights.

The St Patrick's Day tour of 2009 pitted Finn Harps Legends against Manchester United Legends XI and Galway Legends XI vs Celtic Legends XI. In 2010, an Ireland Legends XI faced England Legends XI in Dublin, while eight teams competed for the Irish Autism Trophy at Old Trafford in Manchester.

In 2011, six John Aldridge Legends XI exhibition matches were played across 10 weeks in all parts of Ireland in aid of Irish Autism. In 2012 we welcomed Steven Gerard to Ireland for a charity weekend of events in partnership with Keith Duffy again in aid of Irish Autism.

In 2013, Inter Milan Legends won the Valencia Cup, for which the Legends of Liverpool, Porto and Valencia also competed.

A Gibraltar XI played a Manchester United Legends XI at the Victoria National Stadium in Gibraltar in 2014. The next year, a May Bank Holiday charity double-header was held as Tesco Gorey XI faced Manchester United Legends XI, and Broadford Athletic FC lined up against Liverpool Legends XI.
